Polypropylene Rod

Polypropylene Rod is an excellent and economical engineering plastic that has many uses within a varied range of industries. Although it is very economical it still has a very high performance and therefore offers excellent value for money.

Polypropylene Rod Grades
Polypropylene Rod is generally homopolymer grade which means that is is the most rigid of the two grades.

Application for Polypropylene Rod
Although there are obviously hundreds of applications, Polypropylene Rod is useful within the water industry and also chemical and acid industry due to particular atributes. Polypropylene Rod is also used within the swimming pool environment and also for prosthetic devices. Polypropylene Rod is also used inside valves and seals and also for tough impact resistant handles. Polypropylene Rod is also regularly used within the pharmaceutical environment and industry.

Properties of Polypropylene Rod
Polypropylene Rod is very impact resistant and tough which make it useful for componants that are subject to repeated impact. It is also a very lightweight engineering plastic which helps in the production of componants are repeatedly being manually lifted. Although Polypropylene Rod is not a high temperature plastic, it is still resistant to temperature and can operate up to plus 100°C on a constant basis. This material is a very economical material and can replace existing engineering plastics and save money alon the way. Another ket attribute of Polypropylene Rod is it's acid and chemical resistance, this material is excellent in this area and easily out performs many other materials in this important area. Low moisture absorption help Polypropylene Rod to have a long term componant stability and also help with its bacterial resistance.

Size Range
Polypropylene Rod is commonly available in sizes ranging from 8mm diameter up to 700mm diameter and with a very long range of graduated size options.

Colour Options
Polypropylene Rod is generally available in natural which is a light transluscent colour and also available in beige grey in colour. Black is also available but in a much reduced range and available to special offer and extended waiting time.

Fabrication
Polypropylene Rod is extremely difficult to bond even with current adhesive developments and currently the only reasonable option is welding using economical, portable welding equipment and wire.

Direct Plastics Online are becoming one of the largest suppliers of Polypropylene Rod and offer the full range at very competitive prices along with a rapid dispatch and free delivery.
