Nylon 66 Sheet
We offer two grades of Nylon Sheet and this is our Nylon 66 Sheet alternative engineering plastic.
Nylon 66 Sheet Advantages
Nylon 66 does have a few slight advantages, the first being that it can operate at a very slightly higher temperature and the second advantage of Nylon 66 Sheet is also that it is slightly harder as an engineering plastic. These differences are small but these advantages are slight over Nylon 6 Sheet.
Nylon 66 Sheet Disadvantages
A few small disadvantages of Nylon 66 Sheet which are firstly that the size range availability is slightly more limited than Nylon 6 Sheet and it is also very slightly more costly, the other reason is that it is also very slightly less impact resistant but as with the advantages, these differences between the two Nylon Sheet grades are minimal.
Nylon 66 Sheet Sizes
Nylon 66 Sheet is generally manufactured in thicknesses ranging from 5mm up to a maximum of 100mm thick, although the black Nylon 66 Sheet has a more limited range of thicknesses. The sheets are also made in an overall size of 3000mm x 500mm but we do offer a range of sizes of Nylon 66 Sheet based on the main overall sheet size.
Nylon 66 Sheet Applications
Nylon 66 can be used for pretty much most applications and the natural grade is acceptable with food environments. Typically Nylon 66 Sheet will be used as wear strips or blocks and is very abrasion resistant. Nylon 66 can be machined very easily and provides a smooth surface finish for product contact such as on conveyor systems.
